BRACE adds new Chief Human Resources Officer

Effective November 6th, Rodney Vinegar has joined BRACE Industrial Group as the Chief Human Resources Officer, reporting to Mary Zappone, CEO.
Rodney brings an extensive breadth of human resource and management experience to Brace Industrial Group. During his 21-year professional career, Rodney has been responsible for recruitment, training, professional development, diversity strategies, benefit changes, mergers & acquisitions, compliance including ACA and ADA, change management, HR leadership, HR operational change and labor relations within global companies including UBS Investment Bank, Colgate-Palmolive, Sanofi-Aventis, PepsiCo, Inc. and Ashland Chemical.
Rodney was the Chief Human Resources Officer for Joerns RecoverCare, a $250 million health care services company. He was integral to the organizational outcome of a merger with Joerns Healthcare where he successfully led the integration of HR Benefits, Payroll, and Policies. While at RecoverCare, he led the due diligence and successful integration of Global Medical – a durable medical goods supplier in Maryland. Additionally, Rodney led the development, training and implementation of the first comprehensive performance management system at RecoverCare.
Prior to joining RecoverCare in 2011, he served as senior vice president of human resources at the media company Scripps Networks Interactive, a leading developer of lifestyle content for television and the internet. Rodney’s responsibilities included Human Resources management for all revenue producing groups, Diversity and Inclusion programs, and Talent Management. He managed and facilitated the training for an enterprise–wide performance management process as well as diversity training. He was also the lead Human Resources person for due diligence related to the Travel Channel acquisition.
Rodney’s interest and experience in M&A started early in his career– his earliest two small company acquisitions were with Ashland Chemical. He embraced the challenges and complexity of the acquisitions. At Ashland Chemical Rodney supported the Specialty Polymers and Adhesives Division and Electronic Chemicals Division supporting both union and nonunion worksites throughout the country. His labor expertise led him to the position of Human Resource Manager for the Frito-Lay manufacturing facility in Allen Park, MI, where he worked closely with the BCTGM Union to improve efficiencies at the facility and build better labor and management relations.
Rodney is committed to volunteering as well. He is a former board member of the Workforce Professional Training Institute, the New York City based non-profit dedicated to strengthening the capability of managers for non-profits. He is a former a board member of the Louisville, KY –based non-profit Supplies Over Seas that meets critical health care needs in medically impoverished communities around the world by collecting and distributing surplus medical supplies and equipment. He is currently Vice-President of the Scott County Library Board of Trustees.
Rodney is a native Kentuckian, and the proud father of three children: Thaddeus, Sophia, and Anneliese. He is a member of the Kentucky Bar Association, and earned a bachelor of business administration and juris doctorate at the University of Kentucky. Rodney will reside in Houston, Texas.
